The Mission of Lancaster County Buy Fresh Buy Local is to build and strengthen our local food system by connecting Lancaster County families, farmers’ markets, restaurants, and other institutions with Lancaster County farmers.
Goals:
- Educate the public on the health and environmental advantages of locally-grown food.
- Increase access to local, sustainably-produced food
- Increase community involvement in the local food economy
- Increase farmers incomes
- Improve the local economy
- Increase visibility of businesses that support the local economy
The Buy Fresh Buy Local label represents quality foods, grown on Lancaster County farms. Look for it on product packaging, in stores, on menus and at your farmers market. It represents a network of farms, farmer’s markets, restaurants, and grocers you can rely on for the best foods our County has to offer.
When you buy foods that are grown or produced in Lancaster County, your dollar goes back to the future of the community, the land, and the economy.
