About Us

overview of who we are

We are ssbn, the Susquehanna Sustainable Business Network, a non-profit network of triple-bottom-line businesses and social entrepreneurs. We are local business people, professionals, investors, and not-for-profit leaders who are committed to building a more socially, environmentally, and financially sustainable economy -- a local, living economy.

ssbn and its members support the triple-bottom-line: People, Planet, and Profit.

Building a Local Living Economy means that locally-owned businesses are strengthened by community support and increase practices and products that support a sustainable economy.  ssbn educates the community on the benefits of a local economy.  The community buys more local and environmentally healthy products and services.

ssbn supports staffing for Lydia Sadauskas, executive director, and for Sam Droke-Dickinson, administrative director.

Lydia's background work with nonprofits and committment to sustainaiblity has led her to work with the ssbn board of directors. Her bachelor of science degree in Computer Science comes from Duquesne University. She has worked with both for profit and not for profit businesses in leadership positions.Sam Droke-Dickinson, owner of Aaron's Books in Lititz and former ssbn board member, brings her business experience as well as her background in non-profit administration, from college registrar to customer service in a large educational and performing arts venue.

ssbn is supported by a board of directors comprised of individuals and independent business owners all of whom are committed to sustainability and the promotion of local living economies.
